Personal Property Tax Declaration Extension

Michael Konik, City Assessor, has told the Chamber the city will give a one week extension to those businesses and organizations that need to file personal property tax declarations.
Due to power outages and damage caused by Winter Storm Alfred, Michael Konik, City Assessor is granting a one week extension to all filers of personal property declarations as allowed by Section 12-42 of the Connecticut General Statutes.  The City of New Britain Assessor’s Office will not penalize personal property taxpayers if declarations are received by the Assessor’s Office or are postmarked by the United States Postal Service on or before November 8, 2011.  All filings received or postmarked after November 8, 2011 will be subject to applicable penalties as required by the Connecticut General Statutes and the City of New Britain’s Code of Ordinances.
