Central Connecticut Senior Health Services is calling for nominations for the WISDOM AWARDS

Do you have a family member, friend, neighbor, or other member of your community who is more than 70 years old and serves as a model of graceful aging? 

 Central Connecticut Senior Health Services is calling for nominations for the WISDOM AWARDS, an event celebrating those Seniors who continue to inspire and make a difference in ways great or small!  

 Categories include:

Healthy Aging

An individual whose athletic prowess helps him/her to achieve remarkable things in an organized sport or an individual endeavor (running, cycling, Yoga, swimming, etc.)

Military Service

An individual who has served his/her country with pride and distinction and continues to embody that spirit

Volunteer Service in the Community

An individual who distinguishes him/herself through volunteer work in religious, civic, and/or community organizations

Career Service

An individual who has dedicated a significant portion of his/her professional career to bettering the lives of others. 


An individual who is a formal or informal caregiver, and whose giving spirit enriches all around him/her

Creativity and the Arts

An individual whose creativity inspires others, including painting, sculpture, music, culinary pursuits, dance, theatre or another medium


An informal or formal educator who continues to teach — and learn from — others 

Legacy (Posthumous Award)

An individual whose spirit lives on in all who know him/her

The nomination deadline is February 1st. 

The award recipients will be recognized on  Sunday April 22 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville.  The Event Emcee is award-winning news anchor, Al Terzi.  Dr. Bernie Siegel, internationally recognized expert on cancer treatment and holistic medicine, is Honorary Event Chair.
